TriggerTech Triggers: Frictionless Release Technology and What It Means for Your Shot

TriggerTech came onto the scene with a bold claim: their Frictionless Release Technology eliminates the creep and inconsistency of traditional rolling or sliding trigger designs. Having installed them on dozens of custom builds, we can confirm — they deliver.

What Makes TriggerTech Different

Most rifle triggers work by sliding or rolling components against each other, creating friction that the shooter feels as creep. TriggerTech's design uses a pivoting cam mechanism that releases cleanly without that sliding friction. The result is a break that feels like a light switch — zero creep, zero take-up, the shot just goes. For precision shooting where shot anticipation is the enemy, that clean break is a meaningful advantage.

Adjustability

TriggerTech triggers are adjustable for pull weight across a wide range — their Primary series for Remington 700 adjusts from 1.5 to 4 lbs. Their Diamond series goes lower for benchrest applications. That range means we can set a hunting rifle at a safe 3 lbs and a competition rifle at a crispy 1.5 without changing hardware.

TriggerTech vs. Timney: How We Choose

Both are excellent — the choice often comes down to the build. For hunting rifles where a customer may be less familiar with a glass-clean break, we'll sometimes steer toward Timney's slightly more traditional feel. For precision and competition builds where the shooter wants the absolute best break available, TriggerTech is our first recommendation. The Diamond, in particular, is one of the finest production triggers we've used.
